The first project I had this semester was a bust. It was going very well, but this was unfortunately the only photo I could get before the period 4 shelves were cleared. I'm not sure why they were and no one asked me if it was my piece, but it was okay. I was proud of my anatomy and how the piece was coming along, but since I had so much to do, I hadn't gotten a second chance at it.
Plan:
-- Form basic head and body shape
-- Hollow out the pieces
-- Connect them together, hollow out eye shape
-- Refine facial detail
My second piece in this unit was a current artist inspired piece, in which I made a record with one of my dad's favorite bands. He and I have listened to them for a long time, so I thought it would be sentimental for father's day. Either way, I think iit turned out great. It's not splotchy or streaky, and very pigmented. I'm proud of this piece

My next piece this unit was a pueblo inspired vase. I wasn't feeling very inspired about it at the time, but I tried my best to make something small and cute. I knew I wouldn't want to take it home, so I didn't end up firing it, but I still found it adorable.

1. Shape the clay into a vase looking shape
2. Hollow it out
3. Carve in abstract and geometric designs
My next piece in this unit was a mug to donate for the wellness center. It hasn't yet gone through its second firing, but it's incredibly smooth and very well made, one of my favorite pieces. It turned out exactly in the way I wanted it to.
My next piece in this unit was a mask or wall hanging, and I decided to go for the latter. I made a candle holder that could match the vibe and general aesthetic in my room, leaning towards the impressionism style. I'm very proud of this piece, my creativity, and how it turned out.
Plan
1. Roll out a large amount of clay and cut out rectangular pieces, using them all to measure evenly
2. Score and slip them all together and dry, dry, dry!
3. Paint the terracotta white, then glaze the piece
My final piece in this unit and my choice piece, I decided to make a ring holder that resembled a clarinet. I had been really in the mood to sculpt and pick out details, which is exactly what this piece requirred. By the time I was ready to fire it, I was very happy with the piece.

1. Make a circle shape and add shallow walls
2. Roll out a cylinder small enough that I don't have to hollow it out
3. Sculpt and add in keys and reed
