Unit 1

My second project in this class was a face; something loosely humanoid, though able to be mythical. I was fairly happy with the outcome- though, when fired and turned into bisque ware, it was obvious that I hadn't smoothed the piece enough before it was fired, and was very rough and textured. If I were to attempt it again, I would spend more time on smoothing the piece.
Plan & Follow-through:
1. Wedge clay
2. Use some kind of Mayan/Aztec
sculpture as a reference
3. Use strong, sharp features
4. Carve out the back until it is
no thicker than my thumb
5. Add unique final touches!
