Plan and Follow-through:
1. Wedge clay into a very rough rectangle
2. Carve out the inside with my fingers and redistribute the clay into the piece
2. Combine the pieces securely and carve out a hole in the top for coins
3 Carve in cute designs and think of a title for my piggy bank!
My first project in this unit was a pinch pot, then made into something useful. I decided to make a Piggy bank but make it look like a fantasy book. I had a lot of fun making this piece- but it didn't really turn out the way I wanted it, and I hope that next time I combine pinch pots that I manage to connect them together a little better.

My second project in this unit was a small animal sculpture, and my original idea was to make a bat that you could hang on the wall, but it ended up breaking off. This is one of my least favourite pieces-- I really dislike my glazing job and the over all look of the piece. Next time I attempt an animal, I definetly need a reference image.
Plan and Follow-through:
1. Wedge clay into a little tube and shape the rough pieces into my bat
2. Score and slip clay pieces into cute little ears and a nose
3. Dry the piece so I can chip away at it
4. Glaze the piece

My third (and technically fourth) Assignment this unit was my historically inspired mini masterpiece! for this, I made a tile and painted "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh, and I was very happy with the way it turned out. I wouldn't do anything differently if I were to try again.

Plan and Follow-through:
1. Make a tile out of smooth clay
2. Leave it until bone dry
3. Glaze the piece using a reference
My final piece for this unit was my choice, and it is an absolute trainwreck. I wanted to try and make my face sculpture again but 3D, and I would do absolutely everything differently. My plan was absolutely awful- I attempted the head shape like a pinch pot, and that was a terrible approach. Human anatomy is extremely difficult for me.
Plan and Follow-through:
1. Wedge clay into a rough circular shape and hollow it out
2. Press clay into shapes that resemble a face
3. Dry the piece so I can chip away
4. Glaze it
